  • Data — We look after Microsoft SQL Server: backups, security, and performance. We write queries and reports you can actually use, including Power BI, on the system you already have.
  • Training — We teach at your keyboard. Files, warnings, backups, printers, and first steps in T-SQL. Enough to run the day-to-day. No lecture hall. This is something that even medium size companies don’t provide their workers to their employees but should.

Computer Repair

A team member comes to the house or small shop and works on the computer where it lives. That means repair and setup for machines that will not boot or still need to be made usable, slow PCs that have stopped earning their keep, viruses and the “it just started acting weird” problems, Wi-Fi that only works in one room, and backups so the next failure is not a disappearance. If the machine can be fixed, it gets fixed. If it can run better, it gets made to run better. If it is done, that gets said plainly, and the old towers, laptops, monitors, drives, and cable drawers can leave on the same trip and be recycled the right way — not the regular trash, not the garage for another three years. Datum Djinn treats Microsoft SQL Server the same way it treats a stubborn PC: on the actual system, with a straight answer about what is worth doing. That includes administration — backups, security, performance, and the unglamorous work that keeps a production server from falling over — along with development of the queries, procedures, and structures the business actually runs on, and reporting in SQL, Power BI, and the tools around them so the numbers come out clean. Training

Training happens at the machine that has to be used — in the home or shop, not in a classroom — and covers the beginner things that actually matter. That includes the everyday work: finding files, spotting a real warning from a scare, backing up so a bad day is not a disappearance, and making the Wi-Fi and the printer behave. It also includes first-step programming and T-SQL: what a program is doing, how to read and write a simple query against SQL Server, how tables and joins fit together, and how to get a result that can be trusted without copying random scripts off the internet. All training is customizable. There is no promise that anyone wakes up a developer. Point at what needs to be understood; it is taught at a beginner pace until the machine — and the database behind it — are usable without a call every time they blink.
